Career:
Matt obtained a 1st Class LLB law degree at the University of Wolverhampton before going on to complete his LPC at the same institution, achieving a distinction.
He qualified as a solicitor in July 2022, although he has significant pre-qualification experience handling a varied caseload of family matters. Matt joined the team at Lawson West in November 2023, having previously worked in a Legal 500 rated family team at a regional firm in the West Midlands, a prominent high street practice in Stafford, and two well regarded firms local to Shropshire.
Experience:
Matt undertakes work in all areas of family law, with a particular passion for cases involving the arrangements for and wellbeing of children. Matt understands that visiting a family lawyer is one of the last things his clients could have imagined themselves doing. With this in mind he always puts his clients first and strives to be approachable and empathetic, whilst providing clear, honest, and realistic advice.
Matt is a member of Resolution and strives to work collaboratively to resolve matters without the need for litigation wherever possible. In those matters where litigation becomes inevitably necessary, he adopts a pragmatic but robust approach to best represent his clients’ interests.

Interests/Hobbies:
Away from work Matt is a keen golfer, and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He particularly enjoys walking in the countryside and trips to the beach with his wife and their Labradoodle, Monty.
