When did you qualify as a Solicitor?
I qualified as a solicitor in 1995.
When did you begin to specialise in Family Law?
I have specialised in Family Law since I qualified as a solicitor in 1995.
What do you enjoy about Family Law?
No family law case is ever the same. Each client is individual and I enjoy being able to come up with creative solutions to try to help clients achieve their aims during what would be a very stressful time for them.
What is your greatest success in your career?
I believe my greatest success is using my experience to advise clients of the various methods of trying to resolve their cases without having to go to court. This means that both parties are fully involved in deciding the outcome of their case, allowing them to settle on an amicable basis and move on with their lives, especially where children are involved.
If you had a magic wand, what would you change about family law?
If I had a magic wand I would improve the court system to reduce the time it takes to resolve cases.
Tell us a bit more about yourself….
I live with my partner and her two children. In my spare time I like to go to the cinema, theatre or spend time with friends. I also enjoy going for walks and watching the local rugby club. I like travelling and I am a keen cook and can be found trying to recreate my favourite dishes from my travels.
