It’s that time of year again! The government’s annual increase in compensation limits for employment tribunal awards take effect from 6th April 2024. The figures this year are a little easier to remember… The main changes are:

1. The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal claim will increase from £105,707 to £115,115

2. The limit on a week’s pay will increase from £643 to £700

Other changes to note include:

Statutory Sick Pay

From Saturday 6th April 2024 Statutory Sick Pay will increase from £109.40 to £116.75, the lower earnings limit remains at £123.

Statutory Maternity, Paternity, Adoption, Shared Parental and Parental Bereavement Pay

From Sunday 7th April 2024 the below will all increase from £172.48 to £184.03 per week:

  • Statutory Maternity Pay

  • Statutory Paternity Pay

  • Statutory Shared Parental Pay

  • Statutory Adoption Pay

  • Statutory Bereavement Pay
