Coronavirus News:  SSP extended to ‘Test and Trace’ enforced ‘Self-Isolators’

Statutory Sick Pay (General) (Coronavirus Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2020

The Government’s new ‘Test and Trace’ system, which began in England in May, confirms that anyone tested positive with Coronavirus symptoms, or anyone in their household, must self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

In addition, people they have had contact with should also self-isolate. Self-isolating people are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay in accordance with the new regulation.

How the new ‘Test and Trace’ system works:

  • if you test positive for Coronavirus, you must share information promptly about your recent contacts through the NHS test and trace service to help the government alert other people who may need to self-isolate

  • if you have had close, recent contact with someone who has Coronavirus, you must self-isolate if the NHS test and trace service advises you to do so.
