Debt Recovery / Enforcement

Debt Recovery

Many businesses did not make it through the recent pandemic, with big-name brands such as Debenhams ceasing to trade, it has left many smaller companies concerned. Whilst the Government has tried to help smaller businesses by restricting the service of winding up petitions and statutory demands as a result of the pandemic, however, these restrictions have started to ease, after allowing smaller businesses time to regain their financial position.

At Lawson-West Solicitors, our Dispute Resolution department can assist you, whether you are a creditor or debtor.

Our specialist solicitors will act in your best interests to ensure that creditors are able to regain what is financially owed to them or that a fair settlement is reached in the interest of helping the debtor.

We can assist you with the following:

  • Advising you on the prospects of success for your claim

  • Informing you about any changes to government guidelines that allow you to serve debt recovery documents

  • Drafting and serving a Pre-Action Letter Before Action or responding to the same

  • Negotiating an out of court confidential settlement

  • Issuing or defending a claim to uphold your interest

  • Enforcing any judgement obtained by instructing bailiffs or alternatively seeking an attachment of earnings or a charging order

  • Issuing your Claim.

Please note that the above list is not intended to be an exhaustive list of areas that our lawyers deal with nor is the information above intended to substitute legal advice. You should always consult with a solicitor directly. Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Dispute Resolution team here at Lawson-West Solicitors.
