Flexibility & Work Life Balance

We believe that most roles can be carried out working in a hybrid style and our people appreciate the trust and autonomy that is given to them in being able to do this through our Hybrid Working Policy. A number of us also work compressed hours and other types of working patterns and the firm is very open to accommodating Flexible Working Requests wherever we can. We offer a generous holiday allowance which increases with service, a day off for your birthday and our working week is 34.5 hours per week with an early 4.30 finish on a Friday.

We also believe in supporting employees going through the life changing event of having children which is why we offer enhanced paternity, maternity and adoptive leave.

Prioritising physical and mental health

The physical and mental wellbeing of our people is of crucial importance. Our Employee Assistance Programme offers not only our people but their partners and dependents 24-hour access to GP appointments via video or phone, it also provides access to counselling and wellbeing services. We offer paid time off for medical (including dental) appointments so you can get seen by a healthcare professional at the earliest opportunity. We offer enhanced sick pay so that you don’t need to add financial worries when you are suffering an illness, and we also offer Life Assurance at 4 x salary to give you that extra peace of mind in providing for your loved ones. Our recently introduced Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme supports our desire to help our people improve their health by providing an environmentally sustainable and healthy way to travel to work.

Corporate Social Responsibility

In addition to standard holiday entitlement, our employees are encouraged to support local charity through fundraising, pro bono work and voluntary support. At Lawson West we allocate one additional day per employee, per year, for time off to support one of the firm’s chosen charities for those who have passed their probationary period. We do this to support a handful of worthwhile charitable causes in our community.
