Lawson-West Solicitor’s Personal Injury department ran a competition with local primary schools to coincide with BRAKE Road Safety Week recently. Two lucky children received top prizes of bikes while a further two runners-up were equipped with safety gear.
Liam Suttey from Swallowdale School in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and Ayan Abdirazak Ashkir from Taylor Road Primary School, Leicester met a team from Lawson-West at Graham Goode Cycles in Aylestone to choose their prizes. Both selected 26 inch bikes and cycle helmets as well as reflective armbands, to keep them safe and visible.
Runners-up Jasmine Beach-Drca from Fernvale Primary School in Thurnby, Leicestershire and Joe Welch from St John the Baptist School, Clarendon Park, Leicester, were also invited to select a cycle helmet of their choice.
To enter the competition, the children were asked to design a poster aimed at drivers that they thought would keep children safer when walking or cycling to school. Personal Injury Partner Vicky Jones commented: “as solicitors who often see the negative impact of accidents on the road, we feel it’s important to bring home the message of road safety to local children, and our annual competition ensures this is done in an enjoyable way.”
