De Montfort University Students Help local Estate Agents with Fresh Thinking

Students at De Montfort University have helped Lawson-West Estate Agents to redesign the sales leaflets used to market houses for sale. As part of their Professional Practice Module, the students were asked to design innovative variations on traditional house sales particulars.

Lawson-West initiated the scheme in order to benefit from the fresh thinking of the Graphic Design students and also to help these students gain experience of a real-life marketing project. The company, which was the first solicitors' practice to open an estate agency in the Midlands, takes marketing very seriously and has its own dedicated Marketing department.

Founding Partner, Keith Lawson-West commented: "We were geniunely surprised and delighted by the extremely high level of creativity and commitment shown by the students to our project. Many of their ideas went above and beyond our initial remit, and will be adapted by Lawson-West across a variety of marketing initiatives in the future."

To show their appreciation, the company presented a cheque for sponsorship of the students' Degree Show, along with letters of commendation and Amazon.co.uk vouchers for the participants.

The degree show will be held on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June from 11 am to 4 pm, Monday 18 June to Wednesday 20 June from 10 am to 5 pm and Thursday 21 June from 9 am to 5 pm at the Faculty of Art and Design, The Gateway, Leicester.
