A client of ours, Mr Martin, was out walking his friend’s dog along a street in Wigston when he tripped by accident in a large dip in the road. He suffered a fractured wrist. The dip was caused by a sunken BT cover in the path. The Leicestershire County Council initially accepted that they were liable for the sunken cover and admitted liability.

Then his Accident & Emergency notes stated that he had been referred to the unit from 'Home' (which was partially true as he did go back to his girlfriend’s house after the accident) and the Council decided that causation was not proved. We issued proceedings against them and they then went back on their admission of liability and claimed that they were not to blame for the sunken cover or our client's accident. After negotiations an out of court settlement was obtained much to the delight of Dianne Hocking, the personal injury solicitor handling the case and our client Mr Martin.

Mr Martin was so happy with the service he received, that he presented Dianne with a wonderful cake! (pictured above).
