Lawson-West become first Leicester Law Firm to be APIL accredited.

Lawson-West have become the first Leicester law firm to be accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers(APIL).

Individual APIL lawyers can apply to be accredited and solicitors Firms can apply for Firm Accreditation. Lawson-West are the first Firm within Leicestershire to obtain APIL Firm Accreditation under the scheme.

“We are pleased to be the first Law Firm in Leicester to be accredited by APIL through their public awareness campaign. It is important that the public understand that they can approach a Firm of Solicitors direct to handle a claim for compensation where they have been involved in an accident which is not their fault. All Law Firms are regulated by the Law Society, whereas, at present Claims Management Companies are not.

It is important to Lawson-West that we are accredited by APIL as this confirms our commitment and high standard to client care and our specialism in this particular area.”

APIL launched a Public Information Campaign in September 2005 called ‘No Logo No Go’ to provide the public with the following information:

• Differentiating regulated legal advice from unregulated claims management companies

• Directing the public to accredited APIL lawyers

• Providing the information to the public of their rights and responsibilities
