6 Tips to Get Your House Ready for a Spring Sale

With the clocks going back and the nights becoming longer – Spring is traditionally a time when a lot of people start to actively look for a new home.

However, as this is the time when traditionally a lot of people put their houses up for sale, you may be up against some stiff competition!

Here are 6 top tips to make sure your house makes the right first impression and sells fast.

1. Get the garden looking neat and tidy: cut back any dead plants, mow the lawn and give the yard or patio a good sweep and a hose down. Why not invest in some Spring hanging baskets to brighten up the garden?

2. Give the front door a lick of paint. A freshly painted front door makes a great first impression. Make sure the doorbell works and clear any clutter away from the porch. Make sure the number is visible from the road, not just from the front door.

3. Make sure your windows are sparkling both inside and out. Also check that all exterior lights are in working order.

4. Store dustbins in a non-obvious place.

5. Tidy stored items in the garage and clear out any unwanted clutter. If you haven’t used it for a while, give to charity. Give the floor a good brush and hose down.

6. Mend any fences or gates that have been blown by the elements during the winter months. If needs be, re-paint.
