Car Accidents

If you have been involved in an accident involving a car or other road vehicle and it was not your fault, you may be entitled to claim compensation for your injuries.  If the driver who caused the accident was not insured or their insurance company will not handle any compensation claim because the driver was in breach of their insurance, it may still be possible to claim compensation for your injuries through the Motor Insurance Bureau's uninsured drivers scheme.

 

If the other driver is untraceable, because, eg they left the scene of the accident or police have not been able to trace the driver, then it may be possible to claim for any injuries sustained in the accident through the Motor Insurance Bureau's untraced drivers scheme.  However, the accident must be reported to the police within 14 days of the accident otherwise any accident claim is likely to be rejected.
