Lawson-West your legal partner for life

About The Team

Following four years' successful sponsorship of the AC Wigston youth teams, Lawson-West are delighted to be sponsoring the newly-formed adult team starting later this year. We look forward to working with some familiar faces, who we came to know during their youth football careers

Tony Wade comments:

“From my point of view we are extremely lucky to have such a well known company as our sponsor, Lawson-West have at all times taken an interest in our fortunes and we are very aware that, but for their support, we may not have been able to continue to offer the opportunity to play football at a competitive and well organised level as we do now.”

2007 Season Report:-

Results

Fixture Date
Syston Town 2 - A C Wigston 5 2 September 2007
On the opening day we travelled to Syston Town and, after a struggle early in the second half, we came away convincing 5 - 2 winners. Last year's top scorer Lewis Madelin started where he left off last season with a stylish hat-trick, with further goals coming from Dean Wade and substitute Nathan Clough.
Fixture Date
Melton Rangers 0 - A C Wigston 4 9 September 2007
We visited Melton to take on Mowbray Rangers, a side that had given us problems last season, knocking us out of the County Cup. This time though we produced an excellent performance, running out 4 - 0 winners. Madelin and Wade (2) were again among the scorers but winger Aaron Soper's thunderous drive into the top corner was the highlight of a very good win.
Fixture Date
A C Wigston - 4 Queniborough 1 16 September 2007
We entertained Queniborough at Guthlaxton and won the match 4 - 1.
Fixture Date
Kingsway 3 - A C Wigston 2 30 September 2007
A disappointing result despite our hard work.
Fixture Date
A C Wigston 1 - Syston Town 0 7 October 2007
The team returned to winning ways with a 1 - 0 home win against Syston Town. Winger Aaron Soper snatched the only goal of the game with only eight minutes left on the clock to seal a hard-fought victory, which sees us return to second place in the league. A special mention also for Sam Shiels, the day's star performer despite being ill in the week leading up to the game.
Fixture Date
A C Wigston 1 - Wigston United 1 4 November 2007
After a couple of weeks without a game, we returned to action with a hard fought draw against local rivals Wigston United. Although we led through Aaron Soper's goal for most of the game, United equalised in the last minute to make the final score 1 - 1.
Fixture Date
A C Wigston 1 - Allexton & Tenant 0 11 November 2007
We were at home to Allexton & Tenant and after another tough game, we won 1 - 0. Nathan Keizer got the all important goal mid-way through the second half when he headed home a left wing cross.
