If you win your business dispute, there are various remedies under ‘contract law’. These include:
  • Damages - In law, damages are an award, typically of money, to be paid to a person as compensation for loss or injury
  • Repudiation – this mean rejecting, disowning or disclaiming something as invalid
  • Rescission - the cancellation of a contract and the return of the parties to the positions they would have been in if the contract had not been made
  • Specific performance - an order by the court which requires a party to perform a specific act, usually what is stated in a contract
  • Injunction - An injunction takes the form of a court order that requires a party to do or refrain from doing specific acts. A party that fails to comply with an injunction faces criminal or civil penalties and may have to pay damages or accept sanctions.
